Subscriptions vs. Rotational Clients – solutions and service in parking systems
Modern parking systems must handle different types of users. The most common distinction is between:
- rotational clients – occasional users who pay per parking session,
- subscription clients – individuals or companies with monthly or yearly passes.
Who are rotational and subscription clients?
Rotational client
This is a user who parks occasionally, without permanent access. In the Car Flow system, their entry is registered by LPR cameras (License Plate Recognition). If the license plate cannot be read (e.g., dirty or missing), the system issues a paper ticket as a backup.
Parking fees can be paid via:
- automatic pay stations,
- a mobile app,
- or directly at exit.
Subscription client
An individual or company with a valid parking subscription (monthly, quarterly, yearly). Entry and exit are automated via license plate recognition or RFID tag, making the process seamless and without the need to stop the vehicle.
Differences in handling rotational and subscription clients
Car Flow parking system automatically distinguishes between the two types of users:
- Rotational clients – directed to payment stations or mobile apps.
- Subscription clients – vehicles are recognized, and barriers open automatically without interaction.
User identification technologies
The Car Flow system uses several identification technologies:
- LPR cameras – read license plates and assign them to user accounts.
- RFID cards – quick access for subscription holders.
- Mobile apps – digital IDs with remote account management features.
Payments and billing in the parking system
- Rotational clients pay for actual parking time (based on ticket or LPR data).
- Subscription clients are billed on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly).
Hybrid models are also possible – e.g., a subscription covering a certain number of hours per day, with additional time billed as rotational use.
Integration with external systems
Car Flow System provides parking data via API, enabling integration with:
- accounting systems,
- CRM and building access systems,
- tenant mobile applications.
Together with CFS 2.0 software, Car Flow can function as part of an integrated building management system (e.g., office or shopping center) or as an independent module.
